Beach Pro Tour 2022 - News

One of the most experienced teams in international beach volleyball, Alex Brouwer and Robert Meeuwsen were world champions as far back as 2013 when they defeated Alvaro Filho and Ricardo Santos of Brazil to win gold in Stare Jablonki. Since then, the Dutchmen have participated in two Olympic tournaments, winning bronze in Rio de Janeiro in 2016, and a further three World Championships.

And despite over a decade spent on courts around the world together, Brouwer, 32, and Meeuwsen, 33, are still going strong. In 2021 they defeated local favourites Ondrej Perusic and David Schweiner to win gold in Ostrava. A month later, they were competing at the Tokyo Olympics where they progressed to the Round of 16 before falling to gold medallists Anders Mol and Christian Sorum of Norway.
