The FIVB Volleyball World Ranking reflects the true sporting strength of the 222 national teams per gender factoring in all matches played in recognised official competitions. It is a dynamic system in which every single match and set count.

Important Information

  • Given that the Iran’s national volleyball team cannot field its best team due to the visa issues that are outside of its control, the FIVB Board of Administration has agreed that no ranking points will be applied to neither Iran nor their opponents during the following matches of the VNL 2023 in Anaheim, USA: Iran vs. France; Iran vs Bulgaria; Iran vs Argentina and Iran vs Cuba.
  • Russian and Belarusian senior national teams are currently not allowed to participate in international competitions. Thus, their World Ranking points will remain the same and those two teams will not be displayed in the World Ranking for the duration of their non-participation.
  • Due to the global pandemic crisis, the inactive teams were exceptionally not sanctioned with -50 points in 2020
  • Due to the global pandemic crisis, events taking place outside of the official national team season calendar dates will exceptionally count towards the Senior World Ranking in 2021.
